Liquid Diet: A Detox Program minus the Food

Written on | by j

The amazing thing about doing a natural detox is that there is no outlined path that all persons must take. There are actually several paths that can be taken that will ultimately lead to the same destination – health and cleansing. The several paths represent the many methods that may be used to do a natural detox. A detox program may be done for 7 days or for several months. It may include only fruits, only vegetables or both because variety is a key feature of a detox program. Another method of natural detoxification is doing a liquid diet. This means that no solid food whatsoever should be consumed – it is a detox program without the food.

Most persons associate liquid diets with the medical field. This is because patients are usually advised to do a liquid diet before surgery or other medical procedures. However, liquid diets can be a powerful aspect of doing a natural detox. These diets are usually done on a short-term basis because they do not provide all the nutrients a person needs on a long-term basis. Liquid diets are also recommended in cases of extreme obesity but, such persons must be carefully monitored by their doctor in the event that complications arise.

A liquid diet clearly consists of drinking only liquid products. This includes but is not limited to drinking tea, vegetable or meat broth, lemonade, fruit nectar or juice and plenty of water. This will aid in flushing the kidneys and liver which are the major detoxifying organs in the body. As with any other natural detox method, consumption of alcohol and caffeine should be avoided.

Precautions include consulting with your doctor before deciding to do such a diet and ensuring that this diet is done for no more than ten to fourteen days. With these things in mind, doing a natural detox the liquid diet way may be an ideal choice for you.

Slimming Down with a Raw Food Detox Diet

Written on | by j

Obesity is a serious health issue that plagues our society. It is the root of discouragement, insecurities and health complications in most persons. If you are one such person, please know that there is hope and this hope does not involve you spending thousands of dollars on a new program or on surgery. Doing a raw food detox diet is an effective way to lose weight. It might be comforting to learn that a detox diet does not require a lot of money. However, it does require determination and commitment in order to truly work for you.

Raw food diet plans

Before we begin discussing the ways to do a raw food detoxifying diet, we need to understand exactly the meaning of a detox diet. Detox is just the shortening of the word detoxification meaning the elimination of hazardous substances from the body. Diet simply refers to the typical food and drink intake of an individual. Therefore, a detox diet has to do with consuming food and drink that will help you to rid your body of harmful food substances. In this case, we will be examining doing such a diet by consuming only raw food.

Naturally, the sound of consuming raw food for even a day might be startling to some persons. One may immediately think of raw eggs like what is portrayed in movies. However, this is not what is meant by a raw food detox diet. Such a diet is carried out by consuming food that does not need to be cooked such as vegetables and fruits. You may decide to progressively incorporate apples and grapes into your diet in combination with your typical meals. Another way of carrying out this diet is to completely change your regular diet from the start and only eat raw foods.

A raw food detox diet includes consuming only organic food and drink, whole foods such as grains, at least eight glasses of water per day and avoiding alcohol, caffeine, drugs and processed foods. Fortunately, this diet neither promotes starvation nor indulging in unhealthy food as much as you desire. You are allowed to eat until you are satiated but the stress is placed on what you eat, not necessarily how much you eat.

The aim of a detoxifying diet is not just weight loss; the well-being of your body organs is a priority too. As a result, this diet can be a great option for diabetic and hypertensive persons as well as those with high cholesterol problems. If this is your situation, then talk to your doctor about the right steps to take. Slimming down or getting healthy may be your desire, so do it with a detox diet today.
