7 Lifestyle changes for the New Year’s

New Year’s resolutions are usually forgotten within the first few months of the year. This may be because some persons set unrealistic goals that they are not equipped to achieve. For those persons who desire to be healthier this year, following a detox program may start you off on the right path to that healthier lifestyle you want. If you not only desire a healthier lifestyle, but a motivated and fulfilling year then you certainly need to do more than a detox program! What should you do? Consider these seven feasible lifestyle changes for the New Year; it is never too late to change.

1. Consume healthier food. Since a detox program might be your priority, then it is only natural that you should eat nutritious food. Try to implement more grains, vegetables and fruits into your diet with time.
2. Workout! Make exercising a must-do this year. You do not necessarily have to do it every day but, set a goal and stick to it. Two to three times per week is ideal. Exercising will keep you healthy, energetic and strong. Toxins also leave your body via sweat and so exercising will certainly boost the detox program that you are doing.
3. Take a break. Rest is just as important to our bodies as work is. Lack of sleep is linked to some health problems such as cancer and obesity. Try to avoid getting caught up with working all the time. Go to bed on time and aim for eight hours of sleep if possible. This way you will remain rejuvenated all throughout the year.
4. Reject stress. Stress actually has a weakening effect on your whole body and it deteriorates your health. Find wise ways to deal with the challenges you face on a daily basis. A stress ball may be all you need when you feel like screaming and breaking down. Prayer can also be an excellent stress reliever.
5. Quit smoking. If you are a smoker, the best time to stop smoking is now. Smoking can give rise to all sorts of disease processes such as hypertension, lung cancer and emphysema. Eliminating cigarettes from your system is also a part of a detox program.
6. Wash your hands. It might sound simple but many fail to do it. Bacteria can spread rapidly due to unwashed hands.
7. Get some sun. Sunshine enables your body to synthesize vitamin D which is necessary for strong, healthy bones.

Work on these seven tips throughout the year and you will definitely experience a difference in the way you feel and live!
