There are many ways to detox your body, but the benefits of olive oil are more than detox. Great for raising the good part of your cholesterol, olive oil offers you the chance to balance out your LDL with your HDL. The LDL cholesterol is supposed to be low, as it is the bad part. The HDL is supposed to be higher, and is the good cholesterol. If you are on cholesterol medication, your doctor may suggest using olive oil to cook with as a means of getting your levels in check. One of the health benefits of olive oil is the fact it lubricates the system and helps with regulating bowel movements. You should only take doses of olive oil if you have constipation though, as too much can cause diarrhea and looser movements. But taking one to two teaspoons about twice weekly can help to get rid of toxins in the liver and the colon as well as the kidneys.

Olive oil is good for regulating bowel movements if you have constipation. If you are simply looking to increase bowel movements in general, you should take the olive oil less frequently. Otherwise, diarrhea can occur. Good luck!
