There are many alkaline foods and acidic foods, each of which are required in your diet to help keep the digestive system in check. Keeping an alkaline balance helps with weight loss, stronger immune system and overall better health. On average, a human needs 80% of alkaline vs. acidic amounts of 20% in their diet. This means that you should have no more than 80% alkaline vs. acidic foods of 20% on any given day. How do you measure this? There are many alkaline vs. acidic choices we make daily. Every time you drink a tea or soda instead of water, you are adding acidic foods to your diet and don’t even think about it. If your body becomes more acidic due to your food choices, acne and many other conditions can exist including but not limited to heart burn, GERD, gastrointestinal disorders as well as bowel disorders like IBS and Crohn’s Disease. It is best to eat more salads and fresh fruits and vegetables than to eat dairy products and alcohol or tobacco products as they are also acidic in nature.
