Oprah and Dr. Oz Give You Pointers On How to Detox Your Home with Air!
Getting rid of dangerous pollutants with a home detox-tips from Oprah, Dr. Oz, and Dr. Roizen
When you think about toxins, you probably think of waste, pollution and chemicals in the air. However, imagine how many toxins are harbored in the place where you spend most of your time—your home. Researchers say that indoor air can be up to 6 times more polluted than outdoor air! Dust mites, running children and scratching pets are all things that threaten a clean and healthy living environment. It kind of defeats the purpose of eating healthy if you are breathing in harmful substances on a regular basis. What is the solution? A home detox! Oprah has Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen reveal how to detox your home, even if you clean your home on a regular basis. Here is what the doctors specifically had to say about air flow in the home (direct link):
“Open your home to the outside world as frequently as you can since the inside of a home generally has three to four times the pollutants and particles that are most dangerous to us. If you don’t air it out, you increase the chance that these pollutants build up.
Indoor air quality has plummeted because our homes are more airtight and we’re using many products to freshen the air, sanitize the home and treat fabrics. And remember that your favorite “clean smell” is often caused by chemicals that are present to mask the noxious odor of other chemicals. Plus, 15 percent of us are allergic to the common fragrances. To compound the problem, we’re spending more time indoors. So make sure to open your windows as often as possible and bring fresh air in (even once a week in the heat of summer or cold of winter).”
Having an air purifier in your home is one of the best ways to greatly reduce toxins in your home. An air purifier cleans indoor air which can benefit people who suffer from allergies, asthma and respiratory problems. Here are some examples of what an air purifier removes from the air:
Dust
Bacteria
Germs
Pollen
Tobacco smoke
Odors
Cat dander
