Should I Ban Artificial Sweeteners from My Diet?
After extensive research performed by Brigham and Women’s Hospital by Dr. Lin, it was shown that from a group of
3,000 women that those who had a high dosage of artificially sweetened drinks were more likely to experience kidney functioning problems as opposed to those who use a natural detox. As part of a natural detox it was found that using artificial sweeteners can be dangerous to human health.
Experiment Against Artificial Sweeteners
The results were a two fold increase of kidney function decline as opposed to those women who did not consume one or two servings soda drinks. To ensure a fair test the women were all checked before and after the experiment for:
• Caloric intake
• Age
• Blood pressure
• Cardiovascular disease
• Physical activity
• Smoking
• Diabetes
Health Risks of Aspartame and Artificial Additives
Aspartame, an artificial sweetener is consumed by 250 million people, in over 100 countries and in 6,000 products. It is rated as being 180 times sweeter than sugar. The main risk is the ingredient called phenylalanine which increases levels of dopamine in the brain. This heightened level causes depression because of the imbalance of serotonin. Other problems are headaches, migraines and brain tumors.
Products such as Splenda, which not only were tested non animals, but released to the public as being safe. The health related problems for Splenda are:
1 Enlarged kidneys
2 Increases the infertility rate in males
3 Reduction of good bacteria in your digestive system
Problems of Using Splenda
Other side effects or symptoms have been found to be joint pain, bloating of the stomach, cold and flu, wheezing lungs, skin irritations. These conditions are from the synthetic, chemically based materials in sweeteners and show proof of manufacturers choosing the more hazardous, cheaper option than natural products.
All of these problems have been shown to be directly related to artificial sweeteners and as part of a natural detox are definitely not recommended.
